Student’s work published nationally

Olivia, one of our Year 11 students, has had a short story published as part of a national competition.

Olivia Was given the opportunity the enter this competition through Young Writers offered to her by Archway. Olivia has a keen interest for creative writing and this is a particular strength of hers. She decided to enter the competition as a way of expressing herself and displaying her ideas. When Olivia received the news that she had been selected to be published, she was shocked but very pleased and this has inspired her to continue to write.

Liv’s story:
One mystical night Lucy wandered through ghost town, Ravenhollow. A night that would change Lucy’s life forever! Flashes of light surrounded her. She was in the most peculiar place. Lucy wasn’t on Earth! it was a petrifying, colourless world. Suddenly, horrifying talons were clenching Lucy. An ancient gate swung open. The creatures threw her into a cage. Lucy panicked. Unexpectedly a book appeared.
When she touched it she wasn’t in the gruesome cage, she was home. Clutching that mysterious book, it was mind-blowing! Lucy froze, the book read, ‘The creatures are always watching!’ Will Lucy ever be safe again?
