Assessment and Exams
At Archway, we take assessment seriously- and personalise learning for all of our students. We use a bespoke assessment suite to identify potential social/emotional/attitudinal barriers to learning – and encourage close partnerships between the Wellbeing Team and our teaching staff and tutors to ensure that all students are afforded the best possible chance of achieving to their potential.
Any learner starting at Archway is required to complete baseline assessments to enable us to see what support and pathway is suited to the individual. Academic assessments then follow a ‘4,5,6,7’ model of assessment, moderation, intervention and evaluation. Mainstream partners assist with the moderation process and reports are delivered to a student’s mainstream provision as well as to parent/carers, once per half term.
At the beginning of Spring 2018, there will be a ‘Mock Examinations Week’ for our current Year 11 students, this is to prepare them for their examinations starting in May. More details of this will be posted shortly. Parents/carers who would like to know more about the examinations process are welcome to contact Shamila Ali through the school office.
